There are 22 Cacique Awards categories, 16 of which are on-shore awards to be given to local industry leaders in the Bahamas. Nine of the local awards are open to nominations from the general public. The other seven local awards are Bahamas Hotel Association (BHA) awards. Finally, six additional Cacique Awards are given to outstanding tourism partners abroad. These are nominated by the Promotions Boards, the Ministry of Tourism and its off-shore agencies.

Lifetime Achievement Award This award goes to the person who has consistently made outstanding contributions to the growth of tourism for 20 years or more. The recipient of this award is announced prior to awards night, and the bestowing of this award is considered the highlight of the Cacique presentations. Minister of Tourism’s Award for Hospitality The Hospitality Award goes to an individual who has best exemplified Bahamian hospitality through genuine friendliness and concern toward visitors. This individual is not necessarily employed in the tourism industry. |
