Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Colin Higgs officially launched the National Tourism Week Campaign during a press conference on Monday. The idea for National Tourism Week grew out of the National Tourism Week, now in its third year and will encompass among other things, the Cacique Awards, a tourism careers fair, town meeting and church service. The main aim of the week is to provide a time period for the country to have a dedicated focus in the country’s most vibrant and essential industry. 
The Ministry of Tourism has designated January 8 through 14, 2006 to be celebrated as National Tourism Week. This announcement was made by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism, Colin Higgs (C) during a press conference on Monday.
